NEXT UP STARS WERE SHINING AT HOLIDAY HOOPS JAMBOREE

Reynoldsburg 2027 guard Amir Clark attacking the basket @ Holiday Hoops jamboree this past weekend at Licking Heights High school.

For the second year Licking Heights High School played host to some of Central Ohio's top young talent in The Holiday Hoops Jamboree which is a joint venture fundraiser with Streamline Media & Publishing (ohioeliteprep.com).
This year's event hosted area middle school and freshmen team match-ups with some of Ohio's Top young prospects facing off.

MIDDLE SCHOOL STAND OUTS

2027 Reynoldsburg Middle 2027 Mekhi Roddy scored 28 pts and was a monster vs Boys Prep winning game Most Valuable Player

Mekhi RODDY
2027 Reynoldsburg
Roddy who has been on the OEP radar for a minute now, is quickly emerging as one of the most interesting prospects in the stacked class of 2027, the Wirey 8th grader was big time this weekend where he put his athleticism and skill set on full display in Licking County. Mekhi scored the ball with efficiency, controlled the boards and was a force on the defensive end as well.

Jordan SIMMONS
2028 Columbus Boys Prep
Only a seventh grader Jordan was hands down one of the best young players in the gym all day. he has a quick first step and showed the ability to get to the basket whenever he wanted. One of the best 7th graders I've seen all year, he's going to be a good one!

Chavis WILSON JR
2027 Reynoldsburg
One of the quickest young point guards in the State Wilson can do it all, has Big Time basketball IQ and uses it to make everyone around him better. Had a great outing this weekend at Holiday jamboree where he was an all-around stat stuffer.

Amir CLARK
2027 Reynoldsburg
Clark was another Raider guard who played really well this past weekend, showed his ability to score on every level knocking down open shots as well as finishing in transition. Played tough defense guarding Boys Prep Top 2 leading scorers.

FRESHMAN STAND OUTS

2026 Licking Heights Freshmen Nate Lovinsky scored 22 second half points to push heights past walnut Ridge by 1

Nate LOVINSKI
2026 Licking Heights
After going 0 for 7 in the first half of Licking Heights freshmen matchup with Columbus City's Walnut Ridge, Lovinsky kept at it running off 22 unanswered points in the second half to knock off visiting Scots by 1. The 6'5 freshmen has one of the highest ceilings of any kid in Central Ohio and will be a force to reckon with in Licking County in the near future.

D'vontae JOHNSON
2026 Whitehall Yearling
Johnson has a smooth game, and it was on full display this weekend, the 2026 Whitehall Yearling guard made play after play to hold off a feisty Columbus International Squad. Knocking down big time three balls, facilitating and making easy plays seems to be his calling, the kid will be special for the Rams in a couple years if he continues to work.

Michael TUCKER
2026 Columbus International
Still kind of raw the 2026 Columbus International freshman guard raised a lot of eyebrows this past weekend, has good size for a guard and showed the ability to shoot the jumper as well as get to the basket, has to get stronger and finish more consistently, but can surly be a good one for Coach Bell in the Future.

Cortez CHANDLER
2026 Columbus Walnut Ridge
The future is bright for the young Scots guard who is a flat-out player, Chandler the 2026 guard will be another Big time player for 4841 in the near future, has great court vision, can knock down the triple and is hard to handle in transition.
