PATASKALA, OHIO - Licking Heights hosted next door rival Reynoldsburg in a LCL-OCC early season match-up last night. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead with senior guard Zazen Bivensand Super Soph Jordan Fisherknocking down a slew of big time three's that gave the Raiders a 6 point lead at half. Reynoldsburg was never able to pull away from a fiery defensive hornet squad that contested every single shot by the raiders with the biggest lead of the contest being 8pts. late in the 4th quarter the Hornets were able to make there run when senior PG Kison Coates Edmondson was able to find senior Toure Youngand junior Ezra Bobofor back to back 3pt baskets to force a tie in regulation. Overtime was a back and forth heavy weight fight with junior Noah Smith knocking down a corner three to seal the deal for the raiders who moved on to (2-2) led by Joran Fisherwith15 and Zazen Bivenswith 11pts.
The hornets who has typically struggled in match-ups with OCC teams showed that they can compete with anyone, returning only 3 seniors the Hornets were led in scoring by Senior Kison Coates-Edmondson with 10 pts followed by Senior Toure Young with 8 and 6'5 Junior Joel Busker with 7pts.
